In his Ted Talk, Dan Pallotta brings up an idea which I hadn’t heard before. He begins by discussing the way John F. Kennedy gave us a deadline for going to the moon, and then quotes Leonard Bernstein by saying “To achieve great things, two things are need; a plan, and not quite enough time.”
He then discusses the idea that productivity and achieving greater things is accepted, while there seems to be a limited view on increasing things like compassion and kindness.
What if we dream about a world where love, peace and joy are the expectation? What if serving one another with patience and understanding could be the normal way of life we experience?
“Instead of going up to the person everybody wants to meet, go up to the person who’s all alone and ask them if they’d like to grab a cup of coffee.”
